Project Overview

This project analyzes the business performance of Kimia Farma branches across Indonesia between 2020 and 2023. Using transactional and rating data from over 70 cities and 672,000+ records, the analysis focused on identifying sales trends, profit distribution, and top-performing branches. The project was conducted using SQL on Google BigQuery and visualized through Looker Studio.

Objectives

• To examine branch-level performance based on transactions, ratings, sales, and profit.
• To identify trends over time in net sales and net profit across multiple provinces.
• To highlight high-performing regions and branches with consistent profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Findings

• West Java dominates in both transaction volume and total sales, with several branches leading the national performance.
• The highest-rated branch was located in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, with a 4.8 average branch rating.
• Over the 4-year span, the company generated Rp346.96B in net sales and Rp98.54B in net profit.
• Net profit and sales remained stable with only minor fluctuations across months and quarters.
• The majority of transactions came from 5-star-rated branches, suggesting a link between high customer satisfaction and transaction volume.

This analysis provides valuable insights for business decision-making by highlighting which branches and regions significantly contribute to Kimia Farma’s overall performance. The correlation between high customer ratings and transaction volume emphasizes the importance of maintaining service quality across branches. This project analyzes the retail sales performance in the United States from 2015 to 2018 using transactional data from thousands of customer orders. With over 4,900 orders and 5,700 individual sales records, the analysis focused on identifying monthly sales trends, regional performance, customer segmentation, and top-selling products. The project was developed using Power BI Desktop to deliver interactive visual insights that support strategic business decisions.

• Total sales reached 8.69 billion with a total profit of 2.01 billion, earned from 3,998 unique customers.
• Sales performance peaked in August and September, indicating effective seasonal or promotional strategies during these months.
• The Mobiles & Tablets category significantly outperformed all others, followed by Entertainment, Computing, and Appliances.
• Cash on Delivery (COD) and Payaxis emerged as the most frequently used and best-performing payment methods.
• A notable number of payment methods fell below average in terms of sales contribution, such as productcredit and ublcreditcard.

Impact

The insights gathered from this dashboard allow the business to confidently make data-informed decisions across multiple areas. By understanding peak sales periods, the company can better plan future campaigns to align with high-performing months. The dominance of specific product categories enables targeted product investments and marketing focus, while payment method preferences suggest a continued need for supporting COD alongside the opportunity to grow digital payment adoption. This project ultimately supports strategic planning across sales, marketing, inventory, and customer engagement, enhancing overall operational and financial performance.

Challenges & Learnings

I learned how to organize health-related content into a clear and user-friendly layout, as well as how to host and manage a static website using GitHub Pages. This project also helped me practice designing visual elements that support content readability and accessibility.
